Ant nebula whose technical name is Mz3 (Menzel3) is a young bipolar planetary nebula (PN) in the constellation Norma that is composed of bright core and four distinct hight-velocity outflows that have been named lobes, columns, rays and chakram. It's all lobes share the same axis of the symmetry but each have very different morphologies and opening angles. Facts about the Ant Nebula:- 1. Mz3 is a complex system composed of three nested pairs of bipolar lobes and an equitorial ellipse. 2. It is referred to as Ant nebula because it resembles the head and thorax of a garden-variety ant. 3. Mz3 is radially expanding at a rate of about 50 km/s. 4. It looks like or compared to the Butterfly nebula (M 2-9) because of their appearance. 5. In the heart of nebula there is a white dwarf with a binary companion are present. 6. Mz3 was discovered by Donald Haward Menzel in 1922.
